About our Founder

Originally founded by Siddharth Sharma, EAI's team has grown to include many of the most well-respected professionals in the sports performance industry. Sharma originally completed a Master’s of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor’s in Biomedical Engineering with emphasis in biomechanics.

Sharma has also served as a research assistant at the Arizona State University Human Motor Control Laboratory where he also co-authored peer-reviewed publications. He has performed research in conjunction with the largest orthopedic surgical group in Arizona, the Center-for-Orthopedic-Research-and-Education (CORE) Institute, on human spine cadaver specimens examining lumbar biomechanics and material properties related to disc degeneration and herniation. In addition, he has worked alongside researchers and neurosurgeons at the world-renowned Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, AZ to design lumbar disc prostheses and surgical applications.

Through his research and academic background, Sharma had pioneered biometrics and analytical methods to evaluate athletes along with training regimens aimed at correcting biomechanical flaws for maximal performance and injury minimization while founding Explosive Athletes Institute in 2009. Over a decade ago, he first introduced and proposed the idea of integrating technology such as force platforms for basketball players to an NBA franchise. Since then, force platform technology has become a cornerstone of medical and performance management and programming for players and teams throughout the NBA. Collegiate and various levels of competition have also since adopted these methods and technologies.

Sharma has worked with thousands of professional to amateur athletes ranging from the NBA, NFL, to high school McDonald’s All-Americans, all who have seen immediate improvements in movement efficiency as well as overall performance and gone on to having career seasons. Additionally, he has been invited as a lecturer and speaker at many national and local seminars and events, including annually at the Pangos All-American Camp for 7 years held by grassroots legend Dinos Trigonis, showcasing the most elite amateur basketball talent nationally.

Sharma is a 2003 graduate of Brophy College Prep and was raised and resides in Phoenix, AZ where his parents own and operate multiple vascular labs, and father is a prominent vascular surgeon having practiced in the valley for over 25 years. In his spare time he enjoys the Arizona outdoors, hiking, photography, and oil painting.
